GameFly digital PC client with 'unlimited PC play' goes open beta

GameFly (parent company of Shacknews) has launched the open beta of its PC client. The downloadable program--now accessible to all--allows GameFly members the ability to manage their GameQ, buy and rent games, and most importantly, read Shacknews stories in an alluring white-on-black format.

As a bonus, GameFly subscribers will also be able to access "Unlimited PC Play," which allows members to download select PC games at no additional cost.

Unlimited PC Play currently offers over 200 games, including Assassin's Creed, Saints Row 2, Prince of Persia, and Hector: Badge of Carnage. While the GameFly client is available on both PC and Mac, games are currently only available in the PC format.

"We are thrilled to finally be able to open up the beta so anyone interested in video games can start using the client, and we are hard at work expanding our catalog of PC titles for our users to play for free in the Unlimited PC Play section," Sean Spector, GameFly co-founder and SVP of business development and content, said in a press release.
