Bethesda has announced that the Skyrim 1.3 patch has arrived on Xbox Live, but the PlayStation 3 version is still pending.

The latest patch for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has now appeared on Xbox Live, Bethesda has announced. The 1.3 patch grants general stability improvements, along with fixes to some bugs caused by the 1.2 update. We mourn the passing of the noble backwards-flying dragon.

Word came via Twitter after Bethesda announced it had been submitted for consoles. No ETA has been given on the PlayStation 3 patch, but Bethesda has made some suggestions for those suffering lag issues. The problem seems to impact those who rack up long play times, which is easy to do in the large-scale game. Obsidian developer Joshua Sawyer, who worked with a similar engine for Fallout: New Vegas, recently claimed that restrictive RAM limitations are the root of the problem.

Is this the patch that makes the game less broken?

Seriously, you know it's bad when you hear about people unplugging their 360's network cable when playing Skyrim to prevent it from updating to 1.2. There should ideally be no "bad vintage" of patches if every game is going toward "constantly online, constantly updating".

I am pretty sure there is an option to not install patches/updates at the expense of automatically getting signed out of XBL. So the stories of people unplugging their network cables just sounds like needless fear mongering on their part. Or do they force patches on people now with the new dashboard update?

i just hit cancel when it came up and prompted the patch since 1.2 came out. it just forces you to play it and not be connected to live. so basically i can't see my friends or see what they're doing.

          tonight i update!

But I just read your advice and if I am to not believe that, does that mean I SHOULD believe everything I read?

So one player not experiencing issues means no problems exist? Ha!

Haha, that's not what I said dude. To say the game is broken, however, is just wrong.

I'm not sure, but I think you have to be off suspension before you patch up since it wants to go online to receive the latest's from MS servers.
