Killing Floor to get holiday-themed content, free weekend
by Xav de Matos, Dec 06, 2011 4:45pm PSTWhen the name of your game is Killing Floor and the premise is "kill everything that isn't you," a certain amount of holiday cheer is expected. Developer Tripwire Interactive has announced the return of its Twisted Christmas holiday event, which will add a new level, music, weapons, and achievements to the game for a limited time.
The content is free to all owners of the game will be available from December 7 through January 4. Killing Floor will also be free to play via Steam this weekend, beginning December 8 through December 11.
But, that's not all: "Returning from last year's event we have Christmas themed specimens replacing all of the regular baddies, Santa’s Evil Lair, Christmas themed achievements and the chance for those who missed unlocking the special Baddest Santa character last year to grab him this time around."
This year's event adds the level Ice Cave as well as seven brand new weapons. Another character DLC character pack is also in the works, entitled Steampunk 2, helping users "complete the set" of Steampunk-style characters introduced in previous DLC.
For more information on the content, check out the game's official blog.
Killing Floor is available on Steam, Direct2Drive, and other digital distribution services.

I'd like to see what a Killing Floor 2 would look like on UE3. Tripwire does a great job of making you feel like you're actually holding those weapons in your hands. Sometimes it's the simple things that make all the difference.
