Xbox TV channel launch schedule confirmed
by Alice O'Connor, Dec 05, 2011 5:30am PSTMicrosoft has revealed the launch schedule of partners and apps for Xbox TV, its streaming video service which arrives on December 6 in the winter 2011 Xbox 360 dashboard update. Available in North America from Tuesday will be EPIX, ESPN on Xbox Live, Hulu Plus, Netflix, and MSNBC's Today, with more rolling out across the coming months.
"Later in December" Xbox TV will add Crackle (Sony), Dailymotion, iHeartRadio (ClearChannel), MSNBC.com, TMZ, UFC on Xbox Live, VEVO, Vudu (Wal-Mart), and Youtube. Then, come "early 2012," CinemaNow (Best Buy), HBO GO, MLB.TV, and Xfinity On Demand will arrive.
There's no mention of Bravo or SyFy, which have been confirmed for Xbox TV, so there's more to come too.
Other countries aren't being left out, with treats including Lovefilm, the BBC, 4 on Demand, and MUZU.TV being shared out across the world. Check the full international listing to see what's coming to your country.
The update also brings a new interface, cloud storage for save games and Live profiles, Bing search, and better Kinect voice control. You'll need to be a Live member to use fancy new features such as Xbox TV and cloud storage, though.
