A bizarre game classification in Australia has kicked up speculation over what it could mean. The classification is for a PC game called "Paper, Scissors, Stone" from both BioWare and LucasArts, with EA as the publisher. That may be strange enough, but it's also described with the following terms: "Science fiction themes, violence and drug references; Online content variable." All of that makes it sound exactly like Star Wars: The Old Republic, besides the funny name.

The classification (via Joystiq) gives it an M rating, slightly higher than the T given to the game by America's ESRB. Meanwhile, the Aussie board doesn't seem to have an entry for The Old Republic itself, making us wonder if this is simply a case of mistaken identity.

It could be a mistake or an old code name, but the possibility remains that it's some kind of related project to the upcoming Star Wars MMO. Jedi aren't known for playing the classic hand-gesture game, mainly because they have a tendency to get their hands chopped off by lightsabers.

A BioWare representative told Shacknews, "we don't comment on rumors or speculation."
