Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is getting much more than your typical HD treatment. Developer Just Add Water is redoing many of the game's textures and character models. In fact, thanks to various improvements made by the developer, the game has ballooned in size, from 1.9GB in its original Xbox-era state, to 3.2GB.

While there's still no release date for the game other than "soon," everything else you need to know about the game has been released.

“When we started this project the original title was 1.9GB in size, however with the various upgrades and additions we’ve done, it’s grown to 3.2GB,” Just Add Water CEO Stewart Gilray told TheSixthAxis. The game's hefty size is one of the reasons why it won't arrive on Xbox Live Arcade.

The remade game will cost $14.99 when it launches. And although it may be a downloadable title, it will don a Platinum Trophy, good news for those that enjoy achievements on the PS3.

A full list of changes made to the updated game can be found here.

The fact that this isn't coming to XBLA really fucking tears it.

        ONLY ON EVERYTHING EXCEPT XBOX

...well, almost everything. Released on Steam last December, coming to PSN in a week, and coming to PlayStation Vita. Only the Wii isn't getting it.

The release on steam was not an HD release, it was just a port of the original XBox game.

They said they may port the HD textures and models into the Steam game when the PS3 version is finished. I hope they do, it would actally make the game worth playing. Even though they shouldn't have released it without the HD assets on Steam.
