The November issue of GamePro--the first quarterly installment of the iconic video game magazine--will be its last. Both the magazine and website for the over 20 year old brand has been dissolved, according to publication owner IDG.
"Thank you for your loyalty, support, and participation in the GamePro.com community," a message on the top of GamePro's site reads. "At noon on December 5, 2011, the U.S. version of GamePro online will shut down as an independent site."
"GamePro will become part of PCWorld.com," the site's announcement includes; however, the message notes that news, reviews, and other content will be provided by the PCWorld team, meaning the GamePro staff has been let go. GamePro won't disappear completely, IndustryGamers reports. "GamePro will work on creating custom content for vendors and events, like last E3's daily publication."
There's a small connection between Shacknews and GamePro, as senior editor Xav de Matos was a regular contributor to the magazine prior to coming to Shacknews.
Thanks for the memories GamePro, and good luck to the publication's (now former) staff.
