Final Fantasy Type-0 localization in the works

Square Enix is working on a localized version of Final Fantasy Type-0, according to a newly released strategy guide in Japan.

With interest for the PSP at an all-time low in the States, Square Enix fans were concerned that Final Fantasy Type-0 would never make it Stateside. The PSP-exclusive action RPG, formerly known as Final Fantasy Agito XIII, performed well enough in Japan to already warrant a sequel, but Square Enix has yet to announce a US release.

The Type-0 "Ultimania Guide," which hit Japanese retail stores today, suggests that it won't be long until a localized version is announced.

According to director Hajima Tabata, the team has already started working on an overseas version of the game. Given the strength of the Final Fantasy brand, and its part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series, it should be no surprise that Square Enix always intended to bring it westward.

The "Ultimania Guide" also reveals Tabata's intentions for a Type-0 sequel. According to Andriasang, Tabata states he'd like to do "a direct sequel featuring the same world and characters," and he also noted that he'd like to make the next title on consoles. Type-1 on PS3, perhaps?
