It took nearly two months, but Splinter Cell Trilogy HD has finally been patched to restore inverted aim, an option missing in the original launch. The PS3 re-release includes three Splinter Cell games: the original, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory, but has been greatly criticized not only for originally missing inverted aim, but for omitting multiplayer features from the second and third games in the series.

The re-release, which is available at retail and digitally via the PlayStation Network, is still hard to recommend after the patch's release. Digital Foundry says the re-release features "clear performance issues," noting a framerate that can drop into the teens.

While the games are highly regarded, the technical shortcomings of this quickly-ported collection makes it currently hold a 67 on Metacritic.

Big whoop. Last time I played inverted was for Star Wars: Tie Fighter. Either get a gamepad or play flying games with a Joystick. Anything else is just clumsy stubbornness on your part for demanding inverted options.

But hey, I'm all for options, no matter how silly or mundane. So it's a good thing.

It would seem you do not understand that Playstation 3 games actually require a gamepad, with perhaps only two exceptions that I can call to mind. (And one of those is only an exception if you have a unit capable of PS2 compatibility.)

No, inverted it better since pulling the mouse is a more precise "operation", and is done more with inverted since twitch aiming upward is more common than aiming downward.

This article is all about the PS3 version of the game, something he does not seem to know.

Ironically, the PS3 collection is based on the PC version--which actually has inverted Y as an option. It's just plain stupid to omit it in this port.
