Splinter Cell Trilogy patch adds inverted aim
by Andrew Yoon, Nov 23, 2011 1:00pm PSTIt took nearly two months, but Splinter Cell Trilogy HD has finally been patched to restore inverted aim, an option missing in the original launch. The PS3 re-release includes three Splinter Cell games: the original, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory, but has been greatly criticized not only for originally missing inverted aim, but for omitting multiplayer features from the second and third games in the series.
The re-release, which is available at retail and digitally via the PlayStation Network, is still hard to recommend after the patch's release. Digital Foundry says the re-release features "clear performance issues," noting a framerate that can drop into the teens.
While the games are highly regarded, the technical shortcomings of this quickly-ported collection makes it currently hold a 67 on Metacritic.
