Rockstar is attempting to make its upcoming "special edition" of Max Payne 3 truly special, by enforcing a pre-order cutoff date. From now until January 15, you'll be able to lay down $100 on a premium bundle that includes the game, a 10" tall Max Payne statue created by TriForce, a series of original art prints, a bullet-shaped keychain, the official soundtrack, and a bundle of multiplayer DLC. The Classic Multiplayer Character Pack will add eight playable characters for Max Payne 3's multiplayer mode, including the original Max Payne, Mona Sax, and Vladimir Lem. The Disorderly Conduct Multiplayer Weapons Pack will include the Hammerhead Auto Shotgun, G9 Grenade launcher, and Molotov cocktail.

Mona Sax returns... at least for multiplayer

According to the press release, the character and weapons packs will not be found anywhere else, so don't expect to buy the DLC immediately at launch. Given the inclusion of such powerful weapons in the special edition, we've contacted Rockstar Games to see if they're concerned about game balance--and if owners of this premium edition will gain an upper-hand at launch. While Max Payne 3's special edition will only be available to pre-order until January 15th, the game will not ship until March.

What? I have a lot of shelves and love this stuff. It's only $40 more for a statue, prints, keychains, soundtrack and a bunch of digital content.

Break down that $40 and it's not a whole lot more for what you get. I love Max Payne and will love getting this. Max Payne 1 mousepad is lonely!

I don't like having a lot of shit. I don't care about Max Payne multiplayer either. Break it down and its a lot of stuff I don't want or need.

Which is not to say you can't buy it. If you want it then more power to you.

Well your comment felt like it was directed to anyone who would purchase it. If you don't like collectible items like that then of course it's a waste of money.

I don't think any of that stuff together is worth 40 dollars though.
