Skyrim patches coming in two weeks

Bethesda is aiming to release patches for Skyrim next week, after the Thanksgiving holiday, marketing VP Pete Hines has announced.

Bethesda's promised multi-platform patches for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim should be coming within about two weeks, according to marketing VP Pete Hines. He says the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 patches have been submitted for certification, and a PC one is on the way.

Skyrim has been a sales success, despite Bethesda's track record for buggy launches. The Xbox 360 version runs into graphical issues if the game is installed to the hard drive; the PS3 version experiences hefty lag and framerate problems after several hours. Other assorted bugs have been reported, but those two seem to be the most prevalent on consoles.

Hines announced on Twitter (via Joystiq) that the "current estimate" is that the patches will go live the week after Thanksgiving. Of course, any hitches during the certification process could delay that, but it's something to look forward to for the time being.

Last week Bethesda urged patience on the fixes, and cautioned that the first patches may not fix "your" bug. "Takes a while to test/fix/regress," he said. "Hang in there."

Are they fixing it so dragons don't decide to fly down and attack mastadons and giants and get ganked? Because that's a bug I can live with at level 13.

Dragons are just annoying. A few times they fly above me for a while then fly off somewhere. Or they attack me a few times, then fly somewhere far away and attack some random mob so I have to go and chase them down. Ugh.

I find dragons to be ridiculously easy as a destruction mage. It's kind of disappointing :(

I can't wait until a ton of mods are out for this game!

Actually he told one guy on twitter to calm down, not anyone else. Certainly not you!

Still a dumb thing to say publicly but let's not blow it out of proportion.

Wait, were you the guy on Twitter??

They are enforcing the original exe, so you can't use the LAA fix anymore. Which really, really sucks.

The console versions already got submitted? I hope they aren't holding back the Steam patch just to wait for the console versions to go live :/
