"Routine scheduled maintenance" will bring great chunks of the PlayStation Network offline for most of Thursday in North America, Sony has announced. If you've been torn between Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, consider this a friendly, helpful little push towards Bethesda's single-player RPG.
From roughly 8am until 10pm Pacific on Thursday, PSN users on PlayStation 3 and PSP won't be able to access the PlayStation Store, account management, or account registration. You also won't be able to log into the US PlayStation website.
Sony does note that "some users may be able to play online during the maintenance," but don't count on it.
As ever, Trophies collected while PSN is down will be remembered when it's back online.
