BioWare has been making changes to the Mass Effect 3 script ever since the Xbox Live beta leak revealed key story details.

The ending of the Mass Effect trilogy managed to leak online following the accidental release of the Mass Effect 3 beta on Xbox Live. While most fans simply wanted to know more about the game's mechanics, some sleuths managed to find the game's script hidden in the beta--much to the dismay of developer BioWare.

While the leak was disappointing for the team, BioWare's Ray Muzyka is attempting to spin things in a more favorable light. "It's hard to say something like that having a positive benefit," Muzyka said. "But if it gets more people to check out Mass Effect 3 that would be a positive benefit."

In light of the leak, BioWare is hoping to make edits to the story based on the response towards the leaked script. "We listen to our fans all of the time," Muzyka told Eurogamer. "We listen to them on the forums, their feedback from stories. We're reading it all. If we can get ideas out of it that will make the game better, sure. We're not adverse to taking feedback."

Apparently, the script has already undergone a few changes since the beta leak. "The script, frankly, has changed a little bit from what was released, too. It's been edited." While major changes are unlikely before the game's March release, BioWare can take comfort in knowing that "only a small number of people" are going to look at the spoilers. The most passionate fans are likely more concerned about making their own decisions, and seeing the consequences unfold, as the trilogy comes to its conclusion.

Still, Muzyka hopes that those that managed to get an early peek keep it to themselves. "Don't spoil the story," he asked fans. "The fun of the story is uncovering things and exploring and finding new points to adventure in. I hope they don't lose that joy of discovery."
