Harry Potter 3D PS3 Bundle launches this week
Sony is launching a new games-free PS3 bundle this week, and it's all about Harry Potter. But perhaps you should wait for Black Friday for a better deal?
While most video game bundles include video games, Sony's newly announced Harry Potter-themed PS3 set is all about the final Harry Potter movie. Launching later this week for the same price as a standard PS3 ($249.99) is The Harry Potter 3D Experience Movie Pack PS3 bundle. Included in the bundle is a 160GB PS3 Slim, a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 on Blu-ray 3D, and a voucher to download Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
That's a lot of Harry Potter.
You'll also get one month of PlayStation Plus access.
While the Harry Potter package offers a value over the standard system, it seems lackluster compared to the deals Sony has in store for Black Friday. Sony will be launching a "Holiday Bundle" for sale that weekend. For $199.99--a $50 savings over the vanilla PS3--you'll be able to get a 160GB system, LittleBigPlanet 2: Special Edition, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, and one month of PlayStation Plus. Given the dangers of American holiday shopping, however, you'll want to get to the stores early if you want to secure this deal.

This is such an odd choice of 3D movies to showcase 3D because.. it really wasn't that good int 3d. Avatar is the only feature length movie I know if which was actually filmed with 3D cameras and wasn't done with fake 3d after the fact. I saw this movie in IMAX 3D and I found myself wishing it wasn't in 3D so I didn't have to where the glasses.
