Assassin's Creed Revelations 'Previously On' trailer catches you up
by Steve Watts, Nov 14, 2011 12:30pm PSTUbisoft wants you to play Assassin's Creed Revelations whether you're familiar with the series or not. Sure, it may be daunting to pick up the second spin-off sequel to a game that's already a sequel. And yeah, maybe it would be odd to jump in now with a series that's notoriously dense on mythology. But you can always try to catch up. In fact, the company made a handy "Previously On" trailer to ease the transition.
It highlights the broad strokes of Desmond's capture by the Templars and the crazy gene-memory machine that serves as the game's impetus. Desmond's narration even calls Altair "stoic," which just has to be Ubisoft winking at us. It hits a few major plot spoilers for previous games, but strangely leaves out the biggest twists from both Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood.
Still, if you want to learn the gist or just need a refresher course, check out the trailer below. The game launches tomorrow for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A PC version is coming in December, apparently without Ubisoft's 'always-on' DRM.
