Zelda 3DS Special Edition system coming to America for Black Friday

A leaked GameStop circular seems to indicate that the Zelda 3DS Bundle will come to North America. So far, the system has only officially been announced for Europe.

A limited edition 3DS system with imagery from The Legend of Zelda emblazoned on it may be coming to North America, after all. The special bundle, which includes a copy of Ocarina of Time 3D, was previously only announced for the Europe, but a Black Friday ad appears to out the system for the states. A leaked GameStop circular (via IGN) for Black Friday shows the special 3DS sitting pretty at the bottom, alongside a red 3DS bundle that includes Super Mario 3D Land. Both bundles are listed at $199.99.

The Black Friday ad

The European announcement listed the bundle for November 25, which seemed suspiciously close to Thanksgiving. This wouldn't be the first time Nintendo has waited until the last moment to announce special handheld bundles -- in fact, it's practically a yearly tradition. The official announcement hasn't come from Nintendo of America yet, so when they spill it, try to look surprised. We've contacted Nintendo for confirmation.

I've never been more tempted to pick up a 3DS. Zelda and Mario 3D could keep me busy for months.

I think what he means is that the system is normally $169. A lot of system bundles that include games are usually the same price as the system itself. Here, you're paying a $30 premium over the system itself.

Of course, this one looks awesome and Zelda is still $40, so you're saving $10. At least that's my interpretation of razle's post...

I bought Zelda game from Amazon for $31 sometimes ago, right now it's $37 with free shipping. This bundle is crap. The only possible value in this bundle is a resale one since it's supposed to be limited. But then again, if they refresh 3ds and include a second thumb stick you will get screwed and lose money on old POS. So if you're not trying to make money and resell this thing unopened before Christmas, I would suggest you wait for newer 3DS which will hopefully have 2 sticks. By then there will be a bunch of great games out and good games right now will be cheaper too. As it stands right now I'm just playing my brother's old DS games on my 3DS.

You save like $10 vs buying it separately, plus a SE 3DS I'd be willing to pay extra for, for no extra cost.

What would be the difference between the two? I don't really keep up this well, but I am thinking about buying a new 3ds with zelda bundle.

Why go to Gamestop and pay $199 when clearly Best Buy will have the very same bundle for $179.99. If you don't believe me, blackfriday.gottadeal.com has all the latest info.

Good luck standing in line all night in cold and rain just so you can save a meal's worth of change.

Ok, I admit my post may have suggested that you go stand in line at Best Buy, and I know that very idea is crazy because I know what lines are like at Best Buy on Black Friday as I've stood in them, but let me clarify by stating that you needn't necessarily stand in line at Best Buy, IF you can convince Gamestop (or any other retailer that might also be carrying this bundle) to price match the Best Buy ad.
