Modern Warfare 3 killstreaks listed

How many kills will you need to achieve to activate Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's "Strike Packages"? The full list of killstreaks, revealed.

When Modern Warfare 3 hits tomorrow, you'll probably want to know a thing or two about killstreaks. The powerful bonuses have been a defining feature for the series, and this year they're being redefined as Strike Packages. We already knew they'd come in three flavors, but now we're getting a look at exactly how each one will break down.

Game Informer lists the three types of Strike Packages with a full list of their rewards. The Assault Strike Package is most similar to past COD games, offering perks like a UAV (3 kills), precision airstrike (6 kills), and an AH-6 Overwatch chopper (9 kills). The largest reward is the Osprey Gunner (17 kills) which lays down cover fire from a chopper while delivering packages to teammates.

The Support Strike Package is meant more for players who want to lend a hand, and it distinguishes itself from the other two by not resetting upon death. That makes the rewards a bit weaker or require higher kill counts; the UAV requires 4 instead of 3, for example. Others include a Recon Drone (10 kills), Remote Turret (12 kills), and Juggernaut Recon suit (18 kills).

Finally, the Specialist Strike Package lets you set specific perks at certain counts, giving you the ability to create ideal conditions for specific game modes. You could set yourself to run faster with Extreme Conditioning after a few kills in Domination to reach the next flag, for example. You can set the perks to unlock after 2, 4, and 6 kills, and at 8 kills all of your perks will be active at once.

Kills from killstreaks count for more killstreaks. Also the killstreaks reset back to zero after you unlock the last one in a chain - no need to die.

I hated Black Ops for it's horribly designed maps, they felt claustrophobic and the action was far to messy for me to enjoy. That's when I said I'd never buy another COD game again.. So being my typical self, I went out and got this today :) .. I think a lot of you will be pleasantly surprised if you give it a chance. The single player is outstanding so far. I think I'm around about 5 missions in and something crazy and awesome has happened in every one.. Multiplayer is more of the same, but more of what MW2 had to offer. The maps (from what I've played) are solid and have good choke points that are pretty much instantly recognisable, making it much more fun than Black Ops..

They have yet to make another multiplayer map as good as Pipeline or Overgrown. I guess I just liked those cause I'm a sniping little bitch.

Honestly, I thought the Treyarch games had the best multiplayer in the series. I couldn't stand MW2 but BLOPS was a ton of fun.

Apparently there is MOAB killstreak which is at 20 or 25 kills. It kills the entire opposing team but they respawn (doesn't win the round like MW2's nuke). Opposing team is EMPed as long as the radiation or after effects of the MOAB persist. This means they lose their minimap and all electronic gear putting them basically down to their guns and nades.

I don't think I got nuked in MW2, but I didn't play it online for long because BLOPS had just come out

It was frustrating especially if it was an objective gametype where your team was winning, but one person on the opposing team manages to negate your efforts with a nuke.

If you let one person get 25 kills, you deserved to be nuked.

Nah. A person who gets all the kills on their own? Sure. But the killstreaks rolling into one another was the worst idea ever. Hay guys I got a few kills in a row! Now I'm going to hide the rest of the game and win.

While generally I would not step into this argument, he said nothing of other games, just that this one in particular recycled alot of its content from releases in the past....which it has.

Call of Duty 2 was the last good CoD. All these killstreaks and perks an unlocks are gimmicky bullshit and I'd rather not deal with them.

        And now it's infected Battlefield.

Yes, but not tot he degree that MW did it. The unlocks in BF3 are smart, and actually have various uses, rather than just killing all the time. A lot of them play supporting roles.
