Capcom: No plans for Operation Raccoon City beta or demo
by Xav de Matos, Nov 03, 2011 5:15pm PDTA statement made by Capcom's Mike Jones following a Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City presentation implied a beta was forthcoming, that no longer appears to be the case.
Capcom shot down any plans for a public demo or beta on its Capcom-Unity site today, citing "a website misreporting what was said during an interview" as the cause of confusion.
According to Joystiq, Jones originally said: "Obviously there are some camera issues and stuff," referring to a hands-off demo of the game being demoed, "but we're nearing a pretty solid beta, which will be out early next year."
Joystiq now states it had misinterpreted the statement. Shacknews apologizes for the error in reporting this news originally.
Capcom says that no demo or beta is in the works. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is scheduled to arrive in 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
