German developer and publisher Gameforge has announced that it is realigning its studio, leading to a loss of 100 jobs. The company says this is a necessary step to making a "sustainable future" for the browser-based game house, and also announced the cancellation of at least two games. The shake-up will do away with the "client-based" and "web" game divisions, instead splitting into developing and publishing divisions.

Gamasutra reports that both HellBreed and Mythos have been canceled. Star Trek: Infinite Space may be canceled as well if GameForge can't find a co-publisher.

"Through a more efficient organizational structure, we can optimize our use of resources and great potential for further growth increase. This will strengthen our long term position in the dynamic market for online games," said CEO Alexander Roesner. "We take responsibility for our employees very seriously and strive to find a socially responsible solution for the affected team members."
