Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer debuts
by Steve Watts, Nov 02, 2011 9:00am PDTA week ago, Rockstar teased us with a glimpse of Grand Theft Auto V, but we were left with so many questions. Where and when will it take place? What new innovation makes this worthy of Rockstar's rare full numbered sequel treatment? What's with the dollar-sign five?
Today the trailer hit, and it answered some of those questions.
Our unnamed protagonist/narrator apparently moved to Rockstar's twist on Los Angeles to get away from a criminal past and raise a family, but of course, things don't work out as planned. The trailer implies several settings, from cities to mountain trails and even a brief look at a farm, so it may be taking notes from San Andreas' variety. We even see a few shots of airplanes.
