Battlefield 3 'Back to Karkand' DLC screens

Pre-ordering Battlefield 3 netted gamers access to a new set of maps and gear, dubbed the "Back to Karkand" expansion. EA has sent over a handful of screens for the new battle arenas, featuring the good looks and massive destruction offered by the Frostbite 2 engine. The expansion includes four Battlefield 2 maps: Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Sharqi Peninsula, and Wake Island, along with BF2 weapons and vehicles.

Battlefield 3 is available now on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Our review is still being developed, but you can read our first impressions of the single-player campaign in our latest edition of 'Field Report.'

  OMG this is going to be so awesome. BF3 is the best MP game to hit PC this year IMO and I love Wake Island and Karkland. This fucking rocks! I'm gettin goosepimples over this bitch!

    Agreed on all accounts - they advertised the engine as destruction 2.0, not destruction 0.5.

    I see a lot of buildings collapse, but yeah the destruction is definitely less prominent compared to bc2.

  Really looking forward to this. I have been wanting to play Oman a lot lately, and of course Karkand and Wake. Sharqi was never one of my big favorites but it will be great to have too.

    I like Oman because I downed a jet fresh off the aircraft carrier, using my tank cannon. One shell, one kill.

    Sharqi was my favorite BF2 map. I think it had one of the best mixes of layouts for mixing it up in combined arms combat.
