Weekend Confirmed 84 - Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, GTA V announced
by Garnett Lee, Oct 28, 2011 6:15pm PDTBattlefield 3 blew up across the video game world this week and its shockwaves carried right over to Weekend Confirmed. But believe it or not, BlizzCon momentarily upstages the modern warfare, as Xav, Jeff, Andrea, and Garnett get distracted by pandas in WoW and the latest title to board the DOTA train. This special episode was recorded in the evening and the crew celebrated with beers and bourbon. So buckle up, it gets bumpy from the start. Along the rest of the way there's talk of Uncharted 3 and Dance Central 2, hopes and dreams for Grand Theft Auto V, and, of course, Finishing Moves.

Console gamers aren't retards.
Some experiences may need to be streamlined for the input or hardware limitations of the devices, and maybe a significant portion of the audience has been indoctrinated to that kind of experience over years of exposure.
But there's nothing we can't grasp about fucking Battlefield. Team-oriented, objective-based games aren't beyond the comprehension of console gamers. It may be a little more strategic, team-oriented, or methodically paced than a lot of console gamers want, but there's nothing about it that people don't understand.
It's personal preference that's the issue, not ignorance of the workings.

A couple games dominate just like on consoles.
There's maybe a few PC games that have developed tiny communities that have lasted a long time (Halo 1 PC comes to mind) but it's the exception and not the rule. This mostly has to do with dedicated servers and not because console gamers are nomadic.
