Babel Rising, a new game developed by Mando Productions and published by Ubisoft, will cast players in the role of an angry god when it arrives for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime next year. Based on the iOS title of the same name, players must use numerous manifestations of their divine powers to wipe out scores of puny humans and prevent them from building the Tower of Babel. It's sort of an inverse take on the tower-defense genre, with some very light religious undertones.

If you're familiar with the iOS version of Babel Rising, it's not surprising to note that the game will utilize both Kinect on Xbox 360, and PlayStation Move on the PlayStation 3. Players will be able to use various gestures to unleash stuff like floods, lightning bolts, earthquakes, and other manners of godly destruction on the industrious Babylonians. Competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes are also in the mix.

Babel Rising will release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in "calendar year 2012."
