It's an odd choice for a video game translation, if only because the game is more about communication than most skill or luck-based board games. In Apples to Apples, players must figure out the most apt word that describes a certain adjective. A judge decides the winner, based on his or her personal preference for accuracy... or creativity.

The console versions of the game will feature local and online multiplayer. Oddly, there will also be a single-player mode. (How that works, we're not entirely sure.)

At $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points), the digital version of Apples to Apples will be cheaper and easier to get into than the real deal. Of course, THQ is planning on downloadable content, adding new Golden Apple cards, and playable apples.

Apples to Apples will be available later this winter.

This would've been cool six years ago.

It's be cooler if it were Cards Against Humanity.

It'd be super-cooler if it were Wits and Wagers. Or any of a thousand different games.

I am intrigued! We play a lot of Apples to Apples, when we're not playing Dungeons and Dragons.
