Ubisoft continues to push on its Assassin's Creed brand, this time with the announcement of a new iOS title set in the universe.

Revealed last night at a preview event in San Francisco, Assassin's Creed Recollection combines real-time strategy and art examination, reportedly featuring "key characters and locations" from the complete Assassin's Creed franchise.

Details are scarce; however, the wait for information won't be too long as the game is slated to launch before the end of the "calendar year." The header image above and following trailer teases a little of what the game will be, but your guess is as good as ours.

The Assassin's Creed franchise continues on November 15 when the final chapter in the Ezio story, Revelations, arrives for the Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. The PC version of Assassin's Creed Revelations was recently pushed to December.

My first thought when seeing the images for this is that it looked like a CCG. Which I would be all for. I'm not sure about this description of rts meets art examination.
