Developer G.rev, noteworthy for aiding in the development of Treasure's classic title Ikaruga, is bringing one of its original works the the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
G.rev's arcade and Dreamcast shoot-em-up Under Defeat is getting the HD treatment and will launch in Japan on January 19, presumably from original publisher Sega.
For the uninitiated, Under Defeat is an omnidirectional, vertical scrolling helicopter title where the player can attack with bombs and a machine gun. Like Ikaruga, Under Defeat featured multiple resolution modes.
The game also, famously, battled to be dubbed the final Dreamcast title to be launched; however, other titles arrived on the platform following the game's December 2006 release.
No word on a US release; however, other titles of the same ilk have regularly found their way to the platform, including Triggerheart Exelica, which was also published by Sega.
Shacknews has contacted Sega for word on a possible release in North America.
