While Diablo III will be offered free to World of Warcraft Annual Pass subscribers, even they might still want to splash out for the very fancy Collector's Edition unveiled during BlizzCon.

Packed into a stylish box, you'll find a 208-page art book, 24-track soundtrack CD, documentary DVD, and, of course, a copy of the action-RPG, Blizzard has revealed.

You also get a snazzy 4GB USB thumbdrive shaped like a soulstone, complete with a Diablo skull base to plunge it into. It comes pre-loaded with Diablo II and its expansion Lord of Destruction, much as Blizzard included the original StarCraft with the StarCraft II CE.

The CE includes cosmetic in-game bonuses for Diablo III, World of Warcraft and SC2 too. In D3 you get "glowing angel wings," an exclusive banner, and armor dye. The WoW bonus is a Fetish Shaman pet, and you'll get bonus unit decals and Battle.net portraits for SC2.

Blizzard says it will announce the price of the Diablo III Collector's Edition price "in the months ahead." Amazon and GameStop both list it at $99.99 for now.

If you missed it over the weekend, have a gander at the 'Black Soulstone' cinematic Blizzard released during BlizzCon:

Do you really think all this will be $99 (£55)

Sounds about right for the US but it's probably going to be £99 because that's generally how it goes.

        It'll probably be $80.

Same thing happened with the SC2 CE. Amazon originally listed it for $100, then updated the price to $80 when the price was set.

Well someone had it for $80 because Amazon did some sort of automatic price matching deal.

I pre-ordered it the day it was available and my invoice shows $99 :/

I know that was the retail price, did you have a game credit with them or something?

That's just a crop of the biggest version of that picture I could find at the time. Blizzard's hoarding not-worthless pictures, for whatever reason. But there are bigger pictures of everything in the box on the Diablo 3 site.

I don't care at all about crappy collector's pack items, but I do have a thing for digital perks. Probably not a $40 thing though unless it goes on sale somewhere.

I'm the reverse. I'd rather have a tangible, cool art-book (assuming it's full-size and not some scam mini-deal) and some other goodies than some cranked out cosmetic item with no real benefit (or a weak one). Too me that's totally uninteresting. I'm going to pick one of these bad boys up and just sell off the digital crap (or give it away). Each to their own.

I'm such a sucker that I've already pre-ordered thru Amazon and signed up for their free one month prime account just so I could get the upgraded shipping. Cannot wait for this game!

Amazon really needs to do those prime promotions more often. I buy so much shit that month..
