Trials Evolution unlikely for 2011
by Steve Watts, Oct 19, 2011 12:45pm PDTTrials Evolution has slipped into next year, according to a Microsoft representative, but developer RedLynx is shying away from calling it a delay. In both cases, those in charge seem doubtful that the game will release in 2011. It was aiming for this year when the game was announced, but no official date has been given.
"It'll be out next year, 2012," a Microsoft rep told Howcast (via Eurogamer). That seems pretty final, and would push the game past its original target.
RedLynx, even as it points out that no official release date was set, didn't counter Microsoft's claim. "We haven't set an official release date for Trials Evolution," said a response from the company. "We've said in the past we'd like to get it out sooner rather than later, but it's more important for us that the game is completely polished, finished and ready before we release it. So we haven't committed to any dates yet."
The response calls the video's understanding a "miscommunication," but when pressed on whether it will release in 2011 or 2012, the company simply answered "When it's done." As close as we are to the end of the year, RedLynx's hesitation and non-response sounds more like next year than this one.
