Layton Brothers: Mystery Room coming to iOS
by Steve Watts, Oct 17, 2011 3:15pm PDTAnother recognizable face from Nintendo platforms is making the trek to iOS devices. Level-5 has announced a new game in Japan, titled Layton Brothers: Mystery Room. The company hasn't detailed the game or even shown a screenshot, but it promises "a new Professor Layton series experience" on iOS.
According to Andriasang, the game originally started life as a DS game, planned for release in 2010. This new iOS effort stars Professor Layton's son, Alphendi, "a genius investigator with Scotland Yard." And here we didn't even realize Professor Layton had a son.
The first screenshots make the game look a bit more gruesome than the DS series. It looks as if you'll be investigating murders. Yikes!
All previous Layton games have been published in North America by Nintendo, but it's unlikely that trend will continue for this iOS effort. Hopefully, Level-5 will be able to bring the game to the States in some other way--and that may be the hardest puzzle for a Layton to figure out.

Professor Layton is coming to iOS, with "Layton Brothers: Mystery Room." Level-5 has shown off a logo, but not much else.
