Capcom's Street Fighter x Tekken event was loaded with tons of news for eager fighting game fans. The most important bit of news: a release date. The game will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 6th. As previously announced, a PlayStation Vita version is also in the works. Additionally, producer Yoshinori Ono confirmed development of a PC version.

Another important date: Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012 will be available on December 13th. The free patch rebalances the entire game, "making it feel like a new game."

Rufus was also confirmed as a character for the game.

Most of the evening was spent explaining the biggest addition to the game: gems. By equipping various gems, you'll be able to gain new abilities. Gems can modify your attack, speed, defense, etc. The various gems have different activation requirements, such as getting hit a certain number of times. By equipping three power gems, for example, you'll be able to dole out up to 40% more damage for a limited period of time.

The gem system was initially created to assist newer players, by introducing abilities like auto-block and auto throw escape. But before you go into a murderous fit (like the Comic Con audience nearly did!), note that every auto-block will drain the gauge by a third. No more power, no more auto-block.

Capcom released a new trailer fully explaining the system at Comic Con. When Capcom releases it publicly, you'll be sure it will be on Shacknews.

Andrew Yoon was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

Has there been any word of a UMVC3 coming to PC?

I would have never expected this one to get a release because of the Tekken connection.

      YUS!!!!

Gonna double dip. I have put way more time on the 360 version of SSFIV, but the PC version is so much better and has been what I play since I got it. I am sure the same will happen with SF v Tekken.

Capcom confirming PC version? We've all heard that before. Even if it does come out on PC, it'll be at least 3 months later than console, if not more.

Just because it's in development, doesn't mean it's confirmed. Capcom has shunned PC in the past, I don't have much faith in them.

Yes they obviously shun the PC. Let's see, Resident Evil 5, Dead Rising 2, Lost Planet 1 and 2, Devil May Cry 4, Street FIghter IV and AE, Bionic Commando, all available on Steam. Capcom is clearly shitting on the PC market.

I'm just not getting my hopes up on an 'in development' when we all know that doesn't mean it's set in stone.

It will probably continue to be a vague status of 'in development' for PC right up to and after the console release in which they'll check sales and decide whether to finalise and publish a PC port. That's the way they've done it in the past.

Also, most of the games u listed were released a minimum of 5 months after a console release btw. I think dead rising 2 and devil may cry 4 were the only two not delayed. Delayed mainly to stop pc piracy effecting sales, and to focus on console development which you really can't blame them for.

              Secondly -> http://www.capcom-europe.com/games.php?pg=1&order=strTitle&ascdesc=asc&az=s&platform=&genre=

Notice anything? I think when u have articles like this, uve got to learn to read between the lines. Hopefully there will be a PC version, and we won't have to wait too much longer than console players.

Did I miss something? Was there an instance where Capcom stated a PC game was in development but didn't follow through?

Agreed. I'm having a lot of fun playing it and a lot of pro players play on there too.
