Uncharted 3 dev against single-player DLC, would rather make sequel

Like any blockbuster game, Uncharted 3 will inevitably get post-release downloadable content. Just don't expect any of it to extend the single player adventure. Why? "We'd rather build out another game than we would do episodic content," Naughty Dog's Justin Richmond said.

"We'd much rather be working on the next game, producing the game quickly and having people play another adventure."

The first Uncharted adventure on PS3 didn't feature any add-on content. However, Uncharted 2 featured numerous expansions, all focused on the multiplayer component. It's likely that trend will continue for Uncharted 3.

"We're so small that we can't afford to have a whole team working on DLC," Richmond added. Eurogamer notes that Naughty Dog's 90 person team is dwarfed by other teams, such as the 500-ish people working on Activision's Call of Duty franchise.

"Whenever we sit down and think we should do some single-player DLC, someone pitches something and we realize - that's a five hour level." And that's easily content that could go into an Uncharted 4.
