A few of Japan's biggest names in game development are working on individual games to be compiled into a single 3DS omnibus title called Guild 01. Goichi 'Suda51' Suda, Yoot Saito, Yasumi Matsuno, and a Japanese comedian are all working a game to be included in the four-game collection, each with vastly different focuses and play mechanics.

This week's Famitsu (via Andriasang) details the project. Suda51's project is Kaiho Shojo, a 3D shooting game with animation from Bones. A follow-up report explains that the game takes place in Japan, 100 years in the future. An invading country steals Japan's new natural energy source, and the President chases down the bandits in her 11-foot tall winged mech. In case that flurry of crazy made you forget, this is being developed by Suda51, making it relatively normal by those standards.

Yoot Saito (Seaman) is working on Air Porter, a simulation in which you manage baggage claim at an airport. Getting the bags checked and loaded in a timely matter helps planes take off on time, which in turn lets planes land on time for combos. As your airport grows you'll get more passengers, airport expansions, and money, eventually culminating in handling an arrival and departure of Air Force One.

Crimson Shroud is an adventure RPG from Matsuno (Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy XII). It's set 1,000 years in the past, and tells the story of how magic came to be commonplace in the fantasy setting.

Finally, as if that mix weren't eclectic enough, the comedian Yoshiyuki Hirai is working on an RPG in which you play as a weapon shop owner, creating items to rent to adventurers. You have to recommend the right weapon to the adventurers, and a device lets you know the status of their quests. If a quest goes terribly, you may not get your rental equipment back.

The game is being published by Level-5, and the company has an event coming later this week. We're likely to learn more details then. Guild 01 is due in 2012, in Japan at least.

I'm pretty sure that's almost exactly like that game that came out not too long ago..."An Item Shop's Tale"
