End of Intel Chipsets
by Maarten Goldstein, Jun 09, 2000 7:45am PDTThe Register is reporting that not too many companies are interested in the new Intel chipsets, such as the 815E. Most companies just don't appreciate the slowness of Intel in getting support out for features such as PC-133 ram. Together with design bugs on previous chipsets, Intel is just not impressing and also actually losing money on the chipsets.

Why pay more to develop a chipset you might be able to get vs. a chipset you can get shipped over in boatloads for cheap? And good chipsets at that?
VIA better be careful though, I suspect if their chipsets cut into Intel's pocket too much more they'll get slapped with another BS lawsuit.
