Gotham City Impostors trailer gets animated

Monolith has released a new trailer for Gotham City Impostors, but this one doesn't have a hint of gameplay. Instead, it tells an animated tale of two neighbors who don their disguises by night.

Gotham City Impostors is more playful take on the city of Batman. The multiplayer-focused shooter isn't taking itself too seriously, as we can see from a new animated trailer. Two friendly neighbors (with oddly sinister voices) by day turn into brutal enemies by night, and chaos ensues.

Beta invites have started going out, and the test itself started last night. The game isn't due until 2012, so occupy yourself in the meanwhile with zany, violent action.

This is such a weird idea for a game. I'm not saying weird ideas are bad, just... weird.

As I watched this I thought to myself how cool a game would be if you didn't shoot but rather just fought people.

And then I remembered I bought Zeno Clash in one of those sales and never played past the first level or whatever.

I should probably give that one another go.

The female-Joker character not being Harley-influenced is a head-scratcher for me, but I guess they wanted the two teams to be super-color-identifiable at a glance.

maybe that's because there might be a Harley character too...
