Once again, an Endorian royal is out to raise an army and save their lands from ne'er-do-wells, as publisher 1C Company today announced a new entry in tactical RPG series King's Bounty. This time, developer Katauri's off to Norse-inspired icy wastes in King's Bounty: Warriors of the North, with young prince Olaf foiling naughty necromancy. Warriors of the North seems to be another evolutionary step for the series, rather than something drastically new, but it's certainly been an enjoyable formula so far. It'll throw in new units, skills, locations, awards and achievements, plus a new Rune Magic spell school, and new companions in the form of five Valkyries. Katauri's King's Bounty games, if you haven't encountered them before, combine a real-time overworld with turn-based tactical army battles on hex-based grids. Think Heroes of Might & Magic with no castle-building or rival roaming rulers and you're close. Your royal avoids the battlefield, supporting from afar with spells and abilities picked from skill trees. They're fun, yeah? King's Bounty: Warriors of the North is coming to PC in spring 2012. Katauri is also working on an MMORPG, Royal Quest. Despite the similar names, Royal Quest is essentially a regular MMORPG.

You see, the first screenshots are all in Russian

Always room for more King's Bounty. It also helps that as they get more money their English translations get better. ;)

Thinking about it, I've never actually finished a King's Bounty game. But yes, I certainly shall play this too.
