Synergy. Everybody loves it, especially Microsoft. The computing giant is expanding Xbox Live's connectivity with Windows Phone with a new app called the "Xbox Companion App." The upcoming free download will let you not only find and learn more about content available on Xbox Live, but you'll also be able to control your Xbox 360 experience.

The Xbox Companion gives you access to the Xbox Live Marketplace, allowing you to find games, movies, music and TV shows for your Xbox 360 console.

Once you find the content you're looking for, you'll be able to enter "controller mode," and use the app to navigate the Xbox. You'll be able to control video playback of the video, for example. If for some reason the Xbox 360 controller terrifies you, and you don't want to use the voice functionality of Kinect, the app provides a third way of interacting with your console.
