Developer Pelfast told Shacknews that they were quite "surprised" when Sony unveiled download stats of the top PlayStation Network exclusives so far. According to the platform holder, the tower-offense game Comet Crash managed to snag the most downloads this year of all the exclusives released on the PSN, besting games like Dead Nation and PixelJunk Shooter 2.

Here's the top ten list, as detailed in the latest episode of Pulse:

• Crash Commando
• Dead Nation
• PixelJunk Shooter 2
• Fat Princess
• MotorStorm 3D Rift
• Flower
• Aquatopia
• PAIN
• Hustle Kings

The high ranking of both Comet Crash and Crash Commando may have been skewed by PlayStation Plus members, as both titles were available as free downloads to subscribers. In addition, Housemarque's Dead Nation was also available for free in the PSN Welcome Back program.

Other games will be vying for the top spot by year's end, as Sony's new Only on PSN promo will add a number of exclusive titles to the service during the month.
