Sony's stealth-based, third-person shooter last infiltrated homes in SCE Bend Studio's 2007 effort Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow. The studio also developed the stellar PSP title Resistance: Retribution, which launched in 2009.

Earlier this year, a supposed leak on the US PlayStation site (via GiantBomb) revealed a new game in the series was also coming to the PlayStation 3.

Could two Syphon Filter projects be in the works? Hard to tell from the short quip provided by the magazine (via PlayStation Lifestyle): ”SCE Bend is currently hard at work on Uncharted: Golden Abyss, but its hush-hush Vita project is a return to Syphon Filter.”

We've reached out to Sony for comment.
