As promised, a demo for Turn 10's Xbox 360-exclusive race 'em up Forza Motorsport 4 is now available for Xbox Live Gold members. Accompanying the demo is a new trailer featuring professional curmudgeon and Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, here to tell us all that it's nice to making a brum-brum go zoom-zoom.

The demo lets you race around three circuits of the new Bernese Alps track in five cars across three events. 'Round the Mountain' is a hot-lapping challenge in a Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster (a type of car), BMW Blitz has you "weave through slower traffic" in a 2012 BMW M5, and Track Day Rivals event 'Alpine Rush' also has slow, terrible, monstrous other drives who dare to drive on your track.

Gold members can download the 1.27GB demo from the Xbox Live Marketplace now. It'll become available to Xbox Live Silver members too this Friday, October 7. The full game arrives on October 11, published by Microsoft.

Now here's Jeremy Clarkson, expressing some of those outrageous politically-incorrect opinions which he has for money.

I know I shouldn't download it. I know I should stick with Forza 3. But.

lol nice setup man(luck kid if he only knew he had access to that setup), so how is it? Are the graphics pimp? Whats the detail like and how does the cars handle in contrast to 3?

One step forward in every direction. Sound is the best one of all semi-sIm racers (if not best of all) again!

The biggest step forward is the car physics - amazing as the FM3 car physics were already very good.

Biggest complaint so far is the AI. Breaking at places where you can go full speed through but can't overtake. And bumping into you like there's no tomorrow.

Also the in-car (driver's) view is very good! This might be the first game where I'll stay with it and not use the bumper cam.

Everything is lag free, even at major crashes.

Awesome thanks for your feedback, so the graphics and details as well are really a step forward, very cool.

            Sounds like a Champ KO

More thoughts after playing for 2h:

The car physics are MUCH better than FM3! All cars seem to be more predictable - which doesn't mean they'd be easy to drive!
          - You can drift with the M5 like Sabine Schmitz on the Nordschleife :)
          - If the Ferrari Italia is an example for S-class-cars, then this class seems to be drivable even without tuning now!
          - The Zonda: wonderful! That track with the jump is so much fun!

I agree :)! \m/ what a amazing demo, I wanted to keep playing it, just so smooth, rad electronic sounds for music, graphics are top notch, and the handling is smooth and the gameplay is really fun, great job on the difficulty grades you can pick, like you said top notch physics.

Hot damn Oct 11th crazy so soon, must buy for any racer fans period END, also if you suck at racers but love em the easy mode is perfect for your style too.

Really freaking impressed with Forza 4 what an awesome job, I am sure the full deal will blow us away.

Oct = INSANE good stuff tonight is starting off great RAGE unlocks at 9:00 and I just played the Forza 4 demo OMG [runs out side to and lets out a war cry of joy]

haha nice. My 2 y/o likes to play Trackmania with me. Problem is he only likes to hold the up arrow (gas button) and nothing else, so I have to steer. We did manage 5th place on one of those fullspeed maps, tho.

PF or "Push Forward" maps are the ones were you just press Up or the Gas and the track basically drives you to the finish.

All that time spent deliberating with your team over the infiltration strategy.
All that time spent prepping your gear and weapons loadout.
All that rife anticipation as the bar on the scenario load screen fills up.
All of that adrenaline pumping as you rappel down off the chopper...

...all of which turns into a foul mixutre of rage and disappointment as you hear the plink-plink-plink of one of your teammates' flashbangs hitting the ground. And then your screen goes bright white.

You hear the suppressed MP5 burst fire echo through your headset, and right as the outline of the horizon begins to slowly reappear on your screen -- *BBRRRRAPT!*

          *gurgle*

Your screen suddenly flashes red, the world blurs and suddenly flips over to one side. -- *THA-THUNK*

          The screen fades to black.
