Microsoft is planning to issue a new Xbox 360 dashboard update this fall, touting significant speed improvements and full Kinect support. So far our only glimpses have been from still screens and second-hand accounts, but now a video has leaked online that shows the dashboard in action.

The video (via IGN) is in French, and shows off the different panes of content working smoothly. The video has reportedly been pulled throughout the day, in the apparent latest case of a company trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube. Check out the video below.

Speed improvements would be awesome. I hate the way it seems to display spinners every time you load anything and just generally be laggy to respond.

Yeah, I'm sure they put a lot of work into making the ads faster.

It has something to do with being connected to live. Try looking at them when disconnected. It's much faster.

Looks a lot more like the PS3's xmb... thank god. The xbox dashboard right now is a cluttered mess that takes time to navigate to what you want. Some settings are on the dashboard and some are only accessible when you hit the 360 button. It makes no sense. Now if they could make videos accessible without having to load zune I'd be happy.

I really wish they would announce some details about the TV streaming beyond it is a thing that will eventually exist.

Why is the leak news? Microsoft showed it off in action at E3 earlier this year, not just "screens and second-hand accounts."

Hey, motherfucker. The article says: so far our only glimpses have been from still screens and second-hand accounts, but now a video has leaked online that shows the dashboard in action.

All I'm saying is this is untrue. The new dashboard been shown in action, in depth, on different occasions, by Microsoft themselves.

I really like the new Metro style UI. It's similar to the way content is organized on the PS3 (which I think is better than how the Xbox does it now) but I think this does a better job at displaying the content and giving it greater focus. Voice control and Kinect integration are s nice touch.

good to see the metro team is getting the influence they need. it's probably the first legitimately good UI design direction they've taken in many years. and it's different from what anyone else is doing in games and phone UI.

Microsoft is really obsessed with the Metro UI, and for good reason, it is the most unique thing they have going for them right now in terms of UI.
