Half-Life OpFor CTF Released

Hi, I need some help. My halflife game is installed to c:\half-life but when I try to install Opposing Forces (I bought the game) it always brings up a error box saying that I don't have half-life installed (I think because it automatically searches for c:\sierra\half-life). Is there a way around this without having to reinstall EVERYTHING into the default half-life folder? Here's some info regarding some of the things people have posted here.

The announcements of the patch were probably not worded quite right. We all realize that CTF has existed for many years in FPS games. We were just trying to say that a new multiplayer CTF game mode is added to the patch. The nights have been long here lately getting ready for this new Half-Life release.

This patch does not include everything necessary to play an Opposing Force multiplayer game. We didn't include the original Opposing Force WAD files, models, sounds, and whatnot. So installing the patch alone will not let you play CTF. Sorry.

Opposing Force has always been set up so that you don't need the CD to play the game (the same way Half-Life itself works), so if all you want to do is play CTF or multiplayer Opposing Force, then there is no need to apply a crack to the new patch. I'm going on faith here that the reason you use cracks is to not put the CD in, and that it's not a piracy issue. ;)

OP4 CTF kicks ass. The 'repell' mode on the grapple was sorely needed, and do yourself a favor, try to run into the snowman on Wonderland. You'll find the most incredibly amazing weapon ever devised.. the grenade penguin.

I happen to own Op4, and I found it to be amazing. The amount of storytelling and HL echos is enough for me, and I dont think i've ever experienced a tenser moment than the pitch black sewer full of those monster things.

New tfc, op4, and counterstrike all on teh same day, how can you complain? Sure, it was approximately 65 megs for the whole shabang, but I was lucky that i downloaded them all off fast sites... so each only took me 10 minutes or less.

Anyway, Op4ctf is great. Chasm looks cool, Wonderland has the penguin, crash probably would be fun to play, and mortar has.. well.. mortars. Excellent job, Gearbox/Valve/whoever did CTF. Wonderful work.

i never enjoyed hl that much, perhaps i should try CS

I believe that this is proof of exactly how many people play OpFor.

I thought the OpFor single player add-on was alright, but in the past nobody's played the mods for add-ons online, have they? There's always too few people who bothered to get the add-on and also want to play it online. :-(

(Wonder if the same will be true for the Q3A add-on pack.)

I'd play OpFor but I don't like having to crack the lame SafeDisc every time they update, so.

Actually you don't need the disc in to multiplay, do you? Is it really that good? Anyone? :P

A CTF add on for a game expansion that has an average of 150 players per day.... This will be the biggest online hit since Daikatana!

make a string value called installed and set it to yes.

OpFor sucked, but this CTF rocks...nice job Gearbox! I prefer this to the new TFC maps..those are just weird. TFC seems slow to me now, did the classes all get "dumbed down" or something?

I'm doing this because the "Remember, you must have the Half-Life expansion pack to use this" warning has me suspicious.

I'm going to install it even though I don't have OpFor. It might work? I'll let you know in a few minutes.
