A new 'Dreamcast' trailer for Sonic Generations contrasts levels recreated for the game from Sonic's 3D era.

City Escape, Seaside Hill, and Speed Highway are the three re-imagined zones shown off in all their updated glory in the new Sonic Generations 'Dreamcast' trailer. Folks will be able to zip through all of these levels from either the "modern" 3D perspective or the "classic" 2D perspective from older Sonic titles.

Keep your eye out for a brief appearance of Sonic's rival--Shadow the Hedgehog--towards the end.

Sonic Generations is due this holiday season for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo 3DS. You can also check out our hands-on E3 2011 preview from earlier this year.

Played this at Eurogamer! Once you get the hang of how Sonic moves, its a really fun game to play! It might actually get me to buy a console to play it on!
