Foo Fighters headlining BlizzCon concert
by Steve Watts, Sep 28, 2011 10:00am PDTThe annual celebration of all things Blizzard is less than a month away, and now the company has announced the headline band for BlizzCon 2011. The Foo Fighters will be screeching away on the event's closing night, promoting its new album Wasting Light. Tickets are sold out, but you can watch the festivities at home through a deal with DirecTV.
Blizzard's in-house metal band, The Artist Formerly Known as Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain, will open the concert with songs from the company's various franchises. If you want to see the concert or any other happenings at BlizzCon, you can purchase a "virtual ticket" from DirecTV and watch at home.
"We're pretty sure that in the future, music historians will look back at BlizzCon 2011 as the unquestionable pinnacle of Foo Fighters' long and illustrious career," said Foo Fighters lead Dave Grohl in the announcement. "We look forward to living up to that prediction by bringing the Horde and Alliance together to rock the hell out of Anaheim next month."
The event is set for the Anaheim Convention Center, from October 21 to October 22, 2011.
