Journey begins in spring 2012
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 27, 2011 8:30am PDTFascinating exploration game Journey will drift onto PlayStation Network in spring 2012, developer thatgamecompany announced today. The Flower folk have been playing coy for a while, but now they're happy enough with development to publicly proclaim a release window.
"Yes, we haven't said anything about our release in a while mainly because we really couldn't tell," thatgamecompany co-founder Jenova Chen said on the PlayStation Blog. "And we don't want to throw out a date that we are not sure about, and later disappoint our players."
While thatgamecompany's still not quite ready to give an actual release date, offering only the spring window, development's coming along merrily. Chen explains that the summer's private beta "went very well," and playtesting has "given us great feedback on the work we have left to complete."
"While there is still a ton of care and polish needed, we can't wait to finally deliver Journey."
