League of Legends: Dominion mode limited beta starts today
by Jeff Mattas, Sep 21, 2011 11:45am PDTLast month, we reported that Riot Games' free-to-play, action-RPG League of Legends would be getting a new game mode called "Dominion," soon. It's not yet time for the mode's official release, but Riot has announced that a limited beta test for the new mode is beginning today.
The official announcement on the League of Legends website reads, in part:
Over the coming days, we'll be opening testing windows on our platforms during off-peak hours, each of which will be prefaced by a forum announcement to let you know you can and participate. And if you miss one of the testing windows, remember that there will be plenty more opportunities to help test Dominion as we speed toward launch!
Dominion's fast-paced, twenty-minute matches take place in a "war-torn mining village" called Crystal Scar, which contains five control points for players to capture and defend.
No word on the duration of the beta or Dominion's official launch date has been revealed, but you can head on over to the LoL forum to troll for those announcements.

This seems to be the best way to get the testing they need before the floodgates open & their servers get slammed.
