Battlefield 3 PC specs revealed on beta site

Battlefield 3 system requirements appear to have been released, thanks to a frequently asked questions page on the beta site for the upcoming shooter.

It would appear that the mystery surrounding the Battlefield 3 PC system specs have been uncovered.

In the Frequently Asked Questions section of its Beta site, DICE provided a detailed breakdown of minimum and recommended requirements for the beta; however, the listed 20GB HDD requirement implies that these specs match that of the final product.

    Minimum System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) 32-Bit

  • Processor: 2GHz Dual Core (Core 2 Duo 2.4 or Althon X2 2.7GHz

  • Memory: 2GB

  • Hard Drive: 20GB

  • Graphics Card: ATI - DirectX 10.1 compatible with 512MB RAM (ATI Radeon 3000, 4000, 5000, or 6000 series with ATI Radeon 3870 or higher performance) // Nvidia - DirectX 10.0 compatible with 512MB RAM (Nvidia GeForce 8, 9, 200, 300, 400 OR 500 Series with Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher performance)

  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible

  • Keyboard and mouse

  • DVD Rom Drive

    Recommended System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7 64-Bit

  • Processor: Quad-Core CPU

  • Memory: 4GB

  • Hard Drive: 20GB

  • Graphics Card: DirectX 11 compatible with 1024MB RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950)

  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible

  • Keyboard and mouse

  • DVD Rom Drive

Battlefield 3 launches for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on October 25. A multiplayer beta begins on September 27 for select users and open to all on September 29 and run until October 10.

Previously, system requirements for the game were spotted; however, DICE stated that the information was inaccurate.

        Min requirement is a DX10 card so I'm going to go with probably not. Time to upgrade that 10 year old operating system.

        i am going to bet he didn't pay for his OS anyway. maybe it's time to upgrade. i'd love it if devs started abandoning XP. it's shit now. it needs to go away in the gaming realm.

            hah your post just made me remember how giddy I was when I installed a pirated copy of xp on my duron 700mhz pc I bought using my McDonald job money when I was 17. Thinking about how sweet the new desktop looked.

      So much for Medal of Honor Limited Edition giving you early beta access.

      Sure it's much more fun when lots of people have access but that was some shoddy marketing then. It certainly helped push me in the direction of buying the limited edition.
