Edmund McMillen, one half of Super Meat Boy developer Team Meat, has announced that his shooter action-RPG The Binding of Isaac will be released next Wednesday, September 28. The Roguelike-ish game's been developed with frequent collaborator Florian Himsl.

Hitting PC and Mac, The Binding of Isaac will only be available through Steam. As previously announced, it'll cost $5.

The Binding of Isaac promises randomly-generated dungeons, items, enemies and bosses for Isaac to wade through as he attempts to escape his mother, who's heard the voice of God demanding a sacrifice to prove her faith. Almost exactly like the biblical story. Almost.
