Microsoft has announced a partnership with Clear Channel Radio that will enable Xbox 360 users to stream the entirety of the upcoming iHeartRadio Music Festival on September 23-24. Billed as "the biggest live concert festival in radio history," the festival will stream in HD via Xbox Live. Physical ticket sales for the show sold out within ten minutes of going on sale, and the event itself is being held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Viewing the show on the console will be as easy as signing into an Xbox Live account and accessing it from the Xbox 360 dashboard. A partial (and quite eclectic) list of performers was also shared, highlighting acts like Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Coldplay, Kenny Chesney, The Black Eyed Peas, Steven Tyler, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Underwood, Jane's Addiction, Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, Rascal Flatts, Bruno Mars, Sublime with Rome, Kelly Clarkson and special performances from Usher, Sting and Jeff Beck.

The promotional impetus behind the festival is to celebrate the official launch of the digital New iHeartRadio, which delivers "more than 800 of the nations most popular live broadcast and digital-only radio stations from 150 cities, plus user-created Custom Stations, which provide listeners more songs, better music intelligence, more user control and deeper social media integration."

In addition to the Xbox 360 streaming option, the iHeartRadio Music Festival will broadcast live on Clear Channel Radio stations in over 150 markets, as well as stream across all of Clear Channel's radio station websites, at iheartradio.com/vegas and on the iHeartRadio Facebook page.

Announced bands that I interested in: Sting (though it will probably be with a guest that I don't care for) and Sublime with Rome. That is all. Probably won't be available in Canada anyway.
