Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI are both coming to the PlayStation Network tomorrow, according to the PlayStation Blog.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, PlayStation has updated their release calendar. "We incorrectly reported Final Fantasy VI & Chrono Trigger coming to PSN this Tuesday. They are not. We apologize for the error."

Original Story: Two of Square Enix's most famous and beloved RPGs are hitting the PlayStation Network in one week, promising that those nostalgic for the days of the Super NES will have plenty to keep them occupied. Both Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI have been announced as this week's PSOne classics, so they should release along with the rest of the PlayStation Store update tomorrow.

These are the PSOne Classics versions, though, which suffered complaints of long load times; but, those problems may be addressed by the lack of a disc. The two were packaged together for the PS1 game Final Fantasy Chronicles, but the PlayStation Blog makes it sound as if they will be two separate releases.

A price wasn't disclosed, but PSOne Classics have generally hit between $6.99 and $9.99. If it's on the lower end of that scale, it would be among the cheaper ways to pick up these RPG classics.

Final Fantasy VI is still the best Final Fantasy in my opinion!
Chrono Trigger is nice as well.

People should keep in mind that barring any magic, both of these titles are terrible on the PSX, and likely will be just as slow and accompanied by shitty sound as the PSX versions were. Your be much better off getting the VC versions on Wii, or at least in CT's case, the DS version.

I always assumed they were shitty on the PSX because they had to read info from a disc.

Nah, they were just really shitty ports. And given that the PSX to PSN versions of other games haven't changed at all, I'd assume we're not likely to see much in the way of improvements.

Wait are these the originals or the PSX versions? If the latter - fuck that noise. Stick with the VC
