Square Enix is planning on aggressively expanding its support for mobile games through its new "Square Enix Market" initiative for Android. The portal, announced for Android devices in Japan, will support games and apps.

To coincide with the announcement, Square Enix has revealed a number of upcoming games for Android and iOS. Final Fantasy Legends, Itadaki Street, and Dragon Quest Monsters will all be receiving mobile ports for both iOS and Android. However, perhaps the most noteworthy port of all is Chrono Trigger.

Chrono Trigger is one of Square Enix's most beloved RPGs. Since its original release on SNES, the game has seen re-release on PS1, DS, and Wii. It's also been rated for PS3 and PSP. Clearly, Square Enix is making sure the game can find release on every platform possible.

Android will be receiving other games as well, most of which have already debuted on iOS. Final Fantasy 1, Final Fantasy 2, Chaos Rings, Chaos Rings Omega, and Crystal Defenders are all heading to Google's mobile OS.

Finally, there are some original games coming as well. Chaos Rings 2, Diffiusion Million Arthur, and Demon's Score. IGN points out that Demon's Score is being developed by Epic Games, but there's no other details yet.

The original Dragon Quest Monsters (Dragon Warrior to some) too huh? That game was actually pretty good.

I hope it sells a ton so Squeenix can make a proper Chrono sequel instead of these endless Final Fantasy spinoffs.

The creative force just isn't there anymore to make a Chrono sequel.

Are they at least in the i4's Retina resolution (640x960)? If so, grab RetinaPad if you're jailbroken, will make iPhone apps that support Retina res look MUCH better vs the iPad's crappy 2x zoom of iPhone apps.

Wow, who hasn't played this by now? They simply need to make it available for Windows so it'll always be available to play.

Also, why is everyone so excited when this game has been re-released numerous times already?

Because every time it's released we remember to play it again and it's awesome.

They have ported this a zillion times, and yet Seiken Densetsu 3 is still only available as a fan-translated illegal rom.
